VICTORY!!! Yes, in one of the most competitive Kickball Leagues in Southern California, The Mean Boys put on a dominating performance last night winning both playoff games and advancing to the Studio Division finals over the perennial powerhouse The Valley Girls who have previously won the championship 3 of the last 4 years and went undefeated over a 2 year stretch… Guess we brought our A game and it also helps to have a 6′5″ pitcher
You can see Max on the side, he does have his own jersey ![]()

Last Halloween at Google Max’s gf Lula spent some time with the kids. Lula had a hula skirt and flower lei for a little while. Halloween is definitely one of my favorite holidays, really looking forward to some good times this year
Check out the new mini site for Disney’s Bay Lake Tower Resort that I developed with my colleague Chris. This one the bigger projects I’ve done in AS 3. It was great to work with so much video and I like the way the room walk through came out (check out the Visionary Design section). Now that it’s launched for prospective members I can finally share it. Chris created the main navigation and sneak preview section, I developed the rest of the media. You can select either Day or Night in the walkthrough to have alternating views of the Magic Kingdom at night or the Bay Lake during the day, check out the balcony for fireworks! ![]()
Undefeated in pool play we reached the finals only to have one girl get injured and have to play a man down, have a goal called back by a ref’s error and just miss opportunities to lose. It still was a lot of fun and it was great to see some friends from Vanderbilt. (who is ranked #13 in the nation right now for Div. 1 football, yeah!) We also had dinner at STK which was great. Our team name is Title IX after cutting the soccer program after we graduated. Lula and Max also made the trek and had their own jerseys. It was great to Josh and Alison again, looks like they’re doing great up in SF

I had the opportunity to visit Orlando last week and Disney World is ridiculous. The size of the 5 parks and all the resorts is incredible and it’s only matched by the amazing attention to detail at every location. During a company orientation program I competed on a team scavenger hunt through Epcot center to answer a number of country based (England, Japan, Canada) questions and it really emphasized to me how much thought really goes into every attraction at the park. Seeing the fireworks show that night that was choreographed with music and lighting all over the park was…. well, magical

Sometimes working with Disney makes you feel some weight on your shoulders
I’ll be at the Disney booth tomorrow, Tuesday August 12, from 9 am - 12 noon at the LA Convention Center. If you aren’t familiar with the event, here’s a brief description:
Digital innovators, creative researchers, award-winning producers, provocative artists, energetic executives, and adventurous engineers. The worldwide SIGGRAPH community gathers in Los Angeles to explore the products, systems, techniques, ideas, and inspiration that are creating the next three generations of computer graphics and interactive techniques.
Also, I’m really psyched to be in SF next week for FlashForward.
I’ll have to man the Disney booth for a bit but there are some sessions I’m really looking forward to. Some of the people in my industry I really respect and admire like Erik Natzke to Grant Skinner will be speaking. It will also be great to be back in my hometown of SF and hopefully catch up with people I haven’t seen in a while.
